April is drawing to the end the weather here in the UK has been pleasant the past couple of weeks.
I have been dabbling with NOAA Weather Sat reception, Two members of the Scout Radio Group have past their Foundation radio exam.
I’m continuing to work other radio amateurs across the globe using the FT8 mode of operation and have now validated 83 countries. The number of received awards continue to grow.

March 2021

I am back at work again.

I have had the first of two Covid Vaccine jabs.
We have another leader at the Northampton Scout Amateur Radio group, who has just successfully taken and passed the Foundation Radio License course. 2 Scout that are part of the current course all run by the Essex ham group. One of my work colleague’s has just also in the last month taken and passed his foundation course Matt M7RMA 🙂

Updates and thoughts

Jan 2021, I have been furloughed so thought I would take some time to get this site updated.

Since my last update I have been contacting other Amateur radio stations all over the globe using a data mode called FT8, I have purchased equipment and radio to get me onto DMR ( duplex hotspot, Raspberry pi Anytone D878UV

I have joint the Northampton radio club, my furthest confirmed contact is Australia, on both 30 and 40 Mtrs FT8.

There are many different awards that can be earned whilst making contact with other amateurs. I have created a page specifically to show the various awards I have earnt. until the next time, take care look after your families and please if you see me calling CQ then say hello. 73’s
